"Zimbrick has been a family-owned business with strong ties to the local community since our founder, John Zimbrick, purchased the Buick franchise more than 50 years go. Mr. Zimbrick understood the importance to giving back and the power it has to bring positive, measurable change to the communities in which we operate and live in. – An act Mr. Zimbrick refers to as "paying our civic rent."
Fast forward half a century, and we continue to pay that civic rent forward through in-kind and financial donations, employee volunteerism, enduring nonprofit partnerships and much more. Zimbrick is proud to be recognized as one of the top 5 givers in Dane County. Here are some causes we support.
Education
Automotive Youth Educational Systems
In partnership with Wisconsin’s Youth Apprenticeship programs, AYES is designed to help young people jumpstart their automotive careers, prepping them for entry-level career positions. Many students begin working with Zimbrick service departments as an apprentice.
Madison College Foundation
Madison College provides the resources for students to achieve their goals. This foundation, which Zimbrick is proud to support, grants scholarships that make higher education attainable for students
Organizations
Adopt-a-Highway
Our community is beautiful, can we intend to do our part in keeping it that way. At least three times per year, our employees volunteer to clean a section of Verona Road, adopted by Zimbrick Honda, Buick, GMC and INFINITI.
American Red Cross - Biannual Zimbrick Blood Drives
We’re known for enriching lives through our service, but we also believe in saving them. Twice a year, Zimbrick holds one of the largest private blood drives in all of Dane County. On average, we collect 80 units of blood during each of our drives. The Red Cross estimates each unit collected can impact and save 3 lives.
Independent Living, Inc.
We know a little something about using our wheels for good causes. That’s why our volunteers from Zimbrick Honda and Zimbrick Buick GMC deliver hot meals to senior citizens through Meals on Wheels every Tuesday and Thursday. Since 2011, those two Zimbrick stores have delivered over 5,000 meals.
United Way of Dane County
At Zimbrick, we don’t take our position as one of United Way of Dane County’s top ten contributors lightly, but we do have fun with it! Each year we run a campaign to raise money through various activities such as golf outings, softball tournaments and Texas Hold’em tournaments and more. Zimbrick employees give an estimated 375 hours back to the community just through this campaign. In 2012, we were proud to be presented a United Way Innovation Award for our efforts.
The Colonial Club Senior Activity Center, Sun Prairie
Zimbrick Chevrolet loves supporting the Colonial Club of Sun Prairie! Our employees volunteer at The Colonial Club’s three biggest events each year: Brat Bash, StrawberryFest and ColoniALE Fest. They also deliver hot meals on a weekly basis to senior citizens through the Meals on Wheels program.
Middleton Outreach Ministry
MOM brings our community together to create food and housing security through action and advocacy. They are one of the largest food pantries in Dane County and Zimbrick Middleton employees donate their time to help unloaded trucks, stock shelves, and help guests in the food pantry and clothing center. Zimbrick Middleton employees are on-call in case MOM needs extra helps on short notice.
American Heart Association
Zimbrick Fish Hatchery Road employees partner with the American Heart Association to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. We passionately support the AHA because so many of our employees have been personally affected by heart disease themselves or through family members. We help raise awareness through partnerships, financial commitments and employee volunteer hours.

Chevrolet: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®
Zimbrick Chevrolet loves teaming up with Chevy and the American Cancer Society. Every October, we donate $10 per test drive to the American Cancer Society.
Hyundai Hope On Wheels
In conjunction with the American Family Children’s Hospital, Hyundai’s Hope On Wheels campaign is committed to fighting pediatric cancer. At Zimbrick, we’ve been a proud supporter since 2006.
